Well, what a season it has been!!
All 4 of our senior teams fought hard throughout the season, managed to field teams at all games and finished well placed within their respective leagues. The Junior Colts got to both a league and cup final and the Mini & Junior teams continue to grow and thrive week on week.
Much of this maintained success has been down to our loyal and supportive Sponsor partners, who allow the club to continue to grow and realise new initiatives and projects.
Our main Sponsors have continued to financially support the club again this season and we have had a number of new Sponsors coming on board. The club has a Sponsor presence around the pitch with all the advertising boards which will continue into the next season. These boards are seen in our local press weekly and also on the uTube rugby video footage, which is posted on facebook and on the club website.
Sponsors enjoyed joining us for several lunches, where we were able to thank and acknowledge their support and enjoy some great rugby at the same time. Player Sponsorship uptake has been fantastic this season with many of the senior players receiving direct benefit from this financial initiative and of course, club funds benefiting also.
Match Day Sponsorship is a great fun way of supporting the club with packages starting from £350 for up to 4 guests, who can enjoy pre match buffet hospitality from the Blazeratti, be VIPs for the day and have advertising materials displayed as appropriate. We are extending this Match Day Sponsorship package to the 2XV this season for a cost of £200 for 4 guests, with pre match hospitality and all the other benefits. We are very excited to be able to extend this across all teams. Don’t forget Match Ball Sponsorship for all the 1XV home games at a cost of £50 and can be arranged via the sponsorship team, with more details to follow.
Club sponsorship can also be directly given by means of the GRUFC 200 Club, which is a great way to regularly support and sponsor the club by means of a monthly payment of £2. Each month a draw is made and prize money given is 1st prize £60, 2nd prize £25 and 3rd prize £15.
You can sign up and have as many numbers as you wish by following the link to the membership form Glossop Rugby Union Football Club — Membership (glossoprufc.com) or asking at the club.
Sponsor packages are being looked at for the coming 2023/24 season with a wide range of GRUFC sponsorship packages to suit all budgets and requirements and if you are interested in any form of Sponsorship for the club, whether it be financial or practical support in the way of your time or a skill you may have, please contact:

Please take time to look at all the Sponsor notice boards placed around the club, where you will find the names of our current valued Sponsors.
Social & Fundraising Events
We are proud to say that all of the social events we run make profit for the club and all go into the general coffers to allow the various sections to benefit directly.
The social events held at the club this season have, as always, been fantastic successes and great fun!. Many are now legendary and very well supported with many events booked again for the next year as soon as one has finished.
We held a Cheltenham Gold Cup lunch event, coupled with a St Patricks Day party, which was full to capacity and a brilliant day / evening with live music from Irish band Olta.
The Ascot Ladies Day will again be held on Thursday 22nd June, and tickets are selling fast. We are planning several events during the summer, which may take the form of family fun days, Sunday lunches in the sun, quizzes and kids rugby events, so please keep an eye on social media and in the clubhouse for updates.
We are always looking for willing members / volunteers to help with the organising and planning of our social events and welcome anyone to join our sub-group.
If you are interested in attending any of the events, please contact Jan Kenworthy 0774 606 9480 / jan_kenworthy@yahoo.com or keep an eye out at the club for how to book.
Club Projects
We continue to work alongside PAPYRUS (prevention of young suicide) and are proud that we have achieved the following during this season:
We are extremely proud of this work and will continue with new projects this coming season, which will directly benefit the club and the M&J sections specifically.
Please, please, please get in touch it you can get involved in any aspect of volunteering for the club – there are so many ways in which we need help.
Thank you for all your support this season and we look forward with excitement to September and doing it all again!!!
